Personality tests — they have been around since the 80s and seem to be getting a resurgent popularity these days.
Is there any proven science behind them? Not really. Do some companies still use them to eliminate applications? Yes, unfortunately.
The problem with personality tests is that you are often told that there are no right or wrong answers. But we all perfectly know that you are still expected to be “on your best behavior”, rather than give truly honest answers to the questions. After all, not every company may be prepared to hear them.
