Career (Con)Quest #15: Ready for Round Five?

strip #15 ready for round five

Multi-round interviews are the worst.

….especially when there’s no “prize” at the end, no pat on the back or constructive feedback, nada.

Keeping up and carrying on with the job search often requires tremendous inner strength.

So when you are losing those last bits of hope to ever find a good job, think about this:

  • The first Harry Potter book by JK Rowling was rejected 12 times by different publishers. Think about their faces now.
  • Stephen King’s first novel, Carrie, was rejected 30 times.
  • Michael Bloomberg was bumped from his job at an investment bank, and he used his severance check to start his new career.
  • Walt Disney was fired from the Kansas City Star newspaper because his editor said, he “lacked imagination and had no good ideas.”
